Wow! Iceland is amazingly beautiful! Later when I post pics on Facebook, you'll have to check them out. The constant daylight has not been conducive to sleep, but is pretty cool. When I arrived, I saw the sunset...at midnight...and it lasted for a couple hours!
I went to the famous Blue Lagoon, which is a hot spring with this natural mud that you put on your face as a mask. Everyone looks silly, but it was fun. I spent over 3 hours in the hot spring talking with a couple from Chicago, and it was quite relaxing.
I spent a couple days hiking and camping in Landmannalaugar, which was well worth the visit. It's a 4 & 1/2 hour bus ride into the interior, and the bus goes on this crazy 4 wheel drive only road. It's one lane, rough, and the bus even drives through rivers! It is so beautiful all around the area!! I did some beautiful hikes & it's all volcanic material that you walk on, which is interesting. The colors are beautiful & you always have an amazing view!
